April 16th Meeting will discuss Bird Strikes and their prevention

Michael Amir, a former Israeli Jet Fighter Pilot and Inventor, will present "Flying with the Birds". The Israeli Air force lost more aircraft to bird strikes than from military actions. Come fly with the birds is a multi-media presentation.

Michael was awarded US Patent No. 4,964,331 for a remote control model aircraft with special cannon on board, that can fire crack shells designed to scare birds away. The Radio Control Model Airplane simulates a bird of pray that is taking over the territory and attacking the non-desirable birds around the airport area, without harming them.

The presentation will include a slide show and a video called "Flying with the Birds". The video describes The Israeli Air Force mapping the routes of the birds migrating over Israel. They were flying with motorized glider together with the birds in order to record, time, altitude, date, and more.
