MAC changes policy on SSN

DaveR? writes "It looks like the MAC has changed its policy of requiring Social Security Numbers on the application for an airport ID badge. The application PDF file has been removed from the MAC Web site.

If you already have or have applied for a MAC badge (very few people have) you might want to contact the MAC in writing and request that your SSN be purged from the record.

I don't know if my activities had anything to do with this or not and it's really not important. This is the first chink in the armor of that security directive and hopefully we'll find more."

This is also a good time to mention that it is very easy and fast to remove your SSN from your Pilot Certificate. It's free, and a good way to replace that old certificate.

And on another note, the EAA Website has this analysis of the possible impact of continued incursions into the TFRs. Let's be careful out there... The last thing we need now are more restrictions.
