ORH Power Failure

There was an underground cable failure today (Feb 27, 2003) at ORH which has taken out power to much of the North (GA) side of the airport. As of 9:45 this evening, Swissport was still without power. Their phones are out as well, but ORH Police can be reached at 508 799-1348. Obviously, T-Hangar doors are out of commission.

If you were planning an early morning departure, and have electric preheat, or electric doors on your hangar, you may not be going very far. Call for status.

Power Restored

As of approximately 5pm tonight (Thursday), the power is back on. Power was out for nearly 2 days. I've heard through the grapevine that the problem stemmed from a fire that occurred in the old tower building a couple of weeks ago. It caused a cable failure in a manhole over behind the old Swissport hangar building.
