Oxford MA Airport to be permanently closed

Word from folks based at 43M is that the airport is being leased to a trucking company and will be permanently closed. That makes 3 nearby airports closed in the past 12 months; Shirley, Palmer and now Oxford. Are small airports becoming an endangered species? Here is the NOTAM.

Oxford MA [43M]: August NOTAM #30 issued by Bridgeport CT [BDR]
Airport closed permanent effective from September 01st, 2005 at 12:01 AM EDT (0509010401)
