FSS Privatization plans reported on Risks Digest

George Clark writes: ... The June 11th Risks Digest has an interesting report by a pilot regarding the impact of FSS Privatization on services and the risk to flight safety. In the report the pilot comments on recent flights that were launched into marginal weather because of delays in getting clearance.

The Risks Digest is a moderated Forum on Risks to the Public in Computers and Related Systems. It is sponsored by the ACM Committee on Computers and Public Policy. It occasionally covers impact of computers and systems on flight safety.
